Louie was born in Maine, but grew up in Queensbury, NY. He moved around upstate NY for college and work afterwards, when he got a call out of the blue from Shad, a friend he had made in college, asking what he was up to Lou just said he was between semesters in school and working a coffee shop job. “Want to move to California and be a body piercer?” after thinking for about 4 seconds, Louie responded with, “See you in a week”. That was 20 years ago;  no doubt Shad has cursed every moment of every day between then and now for making such an offer.
